My story

I fell in love with yoga in 1992 when a friend gave me a Bryan Kest video. I remember that first feeling of connection to my body, mind and spirit. I never wanted to forget that feeling and immediately became a student of yoga. In 1998, I began leading classes. Teaching yoga helps me to fulfill my life’s mission.

I remain a student of yoga and credit my knowledge to the various teachers in my lineage. These include my first teachers, namely JoAnn Carter, Kevin Gardner, Baron Baptiste, and John Domenico. I am grateful to my teachers that have expanded my perspective – Rolf Gates, Matthew Sanford and Max Strom for teaching me how to breathe. Jodi Greene taught me how to sit. I am also grateful for Hareesh Christopher Wallis for his genius teachings on yoga history and philosophy.

I have spent over 600+ hours studying formally, and remain a student of Janet Stone. My biggest shift came from the teachings of Grace Clayton, who taught me how to open my eyes, heart and soul to the world of conscious living through the 500hr Transcendent Leadership Coaching Training.

With experience, I have recognized that my best teachers are the ones who come to my classes daily, pushing me to find innovative ways to teach and stretch my creative ability. I love yoga because it helps me to do everything better. I’m married to my college sweetheart and we have four amazing sons. I love to hike and be out in nature and treasure time with family and friends.
